Welcome to the Cub Scout Pack 99!

Cub Scout Pack 99 was originally founded in 1999. We are chartered by the River View PTO. Our Pack Night is usually the last Friday of the month at the Elementary School. Thinking about joining scouts? Come check us out!

Cub Scouting is a year-round family-oriented part of the Scouts BSA program designed for youth who are entering Kindergarten through fifth grade (or are between 5 and 10 years of age). This quick guide will help explain the program and all the fun events we did at Pack 99. Your Role as a Parent: Help your child succeed, Be Present and Participate in Events, Volunteer (If Possible) and HAVE FUN! If you have more questions please email info@cubscoutpack99.com. We hope to hear from you or see you soon!

Our Goals are to:

  • Uphold the values & beliefs as stated by the Scout Law & Oath
  • Have a full staff of trained leaders
  • Plan and execute a great program for our families
  • Provide service to our community and chartered organization, Riverview PTO
  • Advance every scout into the next rank
  • Most importantly: Have Fun and Do Our Best!

    How to sign up

Contact us by email at info@cubscoutpack99.com and we'll get a paper copy of application to you. This is what typically works best, particulary for adult partners and new leaders. Otherwise, please visit: BeAScout.org, scroll down to Find a Unit in Your Area and enter zip code (60435 works best), search for Pack 99, click on view unit and click apply as new member.

    Den Meetings

Scouts meet with their dens (scouts who are in the same grade) 2 to 4 times a month in addition to Pack Nights. At these meetings, usually held at Riverview or a mutually agreed upon place, the scouts work on the electives for their scouting year. Each Den has its own specific amount of required adventures and electives that must be earned to advance to the next rank. Den meetings are a great way for scouts to learn new skills, make friends and have fun. Dens are arranged by age: Lion (Kindergarten), Tiger (1st grade), Wolf (2nd Grade), Bear (3rd Grade), Webelos (4 and 5th Grades), and Arrow of Light (5th Grade).

    Pack Activities

Pack Nights are a gathering of all scouts in the pack and are typically held on the last Friday of every month @ 6:30pm at Riverview Elementary. Some of our favorite activities include Pinewood Derby, Christmas Parties, Halloween Parties, Cubmobile Races, Space Derby, Campouts, Exclusive Overnight Activities, Raingutter Regatta, Blue and Gold Ceremony, and Conservation Activities, and Community Service. We also have many optional electives including a Hiking Program, NOVA program, Religious Activites, Summertime Outdoor Activites and others.

Only activities that may cost extra money such as Blue and Gold, Premier Overnight and Council activities need to be paid for at the discretion of the family. All Scouts of Pack 99 are encouraged to participate in the annual Popcorn fundraiser held each fall of popcorn or choose the buy out option and pay their dues or each family can pay in whatever manner works best: cash, card, and PayPal with payment plan or lump sum. Pack 99 also has a very strict policy of NEVER turning a scout. If you have more questions please email info@cubscoutpack99.com

All members of Pack 99 are responible for purchasing their own uniform. Uniform guidelines are given out once the scout is registered. Uniforms can be purchased online or at our Rainbow Council Service Center in Lockport. At our May Crossover scouts are given their new neckerchief and slide by the Pack. The red “brag vest” that will hold all your scouts activity patches will be given to them at their first pack night.

    Day & Resident Camps

At both Cub Scouts have opportunities to learn new skills, enhance old ones and work towards rank requirements, but most rewarding, just have LOTS OF SUMMER TIME FUN

Day Camp → Day camp in Rainbow Council is typically offered for 4 days in a row at different locations throughout council.

Resident Camp → Resident camp is typically 4 days and 3 nights at RSR in Morris, IL.

Parents, we could really use your help! Please let us know how you can help. Contact Cubmaster Michael Wolverton, Committee Chair David Clark at info@cubscoutpack99.com or your Den Leader if you have any questions or are interested in helping Pack 99. The success of our Pack depends on parent volunteers as well as our leaders.
